Solano County Regional Stay at Home Order
The Governor has announced a Regional Stay at Home Order from the Bay Area Region starting Thursday, 12/17/2020 at 11:59 pm. The order will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial 3-week period.
Getting out of this situation will depend on each and every individual to take serious actions to reduce the spread in our community – stay home as much as possible, leave only for essential activities, don’t gather outside of your household, use a face covering in public settings always, and maintain 6 feet physical distancing from others everywhere outside of your household. Help keep yourself and others safe.
There will be no building use by outside groups or renters. Rebuilding Together Solano County will continue their food distribution program because that is an essential service.
Session continues to meet regularly to discuss the feasibility of resuming live worship in our sanctuary with all the state government health requirements in place (keeping socially distant in the pews, wearing masks, no singing allowed, no passing of the Peace of Christ, no fellowship time afterward), and have decided to continue online worship for the foreseeable future. We have good attendance for the recorded services and many have been enjoying the live Prayers of the People and fellowship chats on Zoom. We all look forward to resuming in-person worship when it is safe to do so, but after continued prayerful discussion and discernment, Session believes we can be most faithful to God by waiting. We decided this because:
We want to protect the health of everyone connected to CPC. The virus affects people of all ages.
- We love the members of our congregation and recognize that most of our members are part of the most vulnerable population. Current recommendations from the state of California and the county of Solano that anyone over 65 are advised to shelter-at-home even as other restrictions are lifted.
- We recognize that even if we were to gather at the CPC campus for worship, we would not be participating in communal singing, coffee hour, communion or many other activities that we value.
- We have learned that singing is a way to "super-spread" the virus, because droplets can travel up to 12 feet.
- We recognize that people can have the virus and be asymptomatic. There is no way for us to currently determine who is infected or not.
If you have questions, concerns or comments, please contact one of the current session members.
Welcome! We worship at 10:00 am on Sundays. It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. For over seventy-five years now it has been our mission to share God's love with everyone. That means that no matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.
Here's all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are, casual dress in fine. Although our time will be taken up by singing, teaching and praying, you don't need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: "Come to me" and we say the same. Just come as you are!
We welcome all generations to our services. We have a robust music program with our musical selections varying from contemporary to traditional. Our Chancel Choir is accompanied with piano or organ and often guitar. We also have a Bell Choir and guest musicians and soloists.
We have a children's corner in the back of the church for little ones where they can be with their parents and quietly play as well as earphones for those hard of hearing. There is plenty of seating, and made
accessible to everyone, so if you have any special needs - don't worry! We
have you covered.
After the service plan on joining us for coffee, treats, and fellowship so we can get to know each other!
